Microblading VS Machine – eyebrow treatments

Some of you may be wondering what the difference is between semi-permanent makeup and microblading? Or you may not have even realised that there was more than one option available to you. Well wonder no more, we are here to give you some insight into these both equally fabulous treatments.

Let’s start with semi-permanent machine applied makeup, also known as micro-pigmentation, cosmetic tattooing and permanent makeup. This treatment is essentially a form of tattooing however differs somewhat to a “permanent “regular, artistic tattoo.

The machinery used for semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing generally has a lower frequency. As we do not want to penetrate as deep into the skin layers.

Cosmetic tattoo is much more superficial than a regular tattoo.

We use pigments not inks to project a cosmetic design. A pigment has the ability to fade out of the skin overtime.

Now we have established what semi-permanent makeup is, we now need to know what the difference between semi-permanent makeup and microblading?

The two are in a sense very similar. They are both treatments that are used to provide clients with lasting cosmetic results in replacement of conventional makeup, with the added bonus of lasting substantially longer. Both treatments can provide clients with natural alternatives to lip, eye and eyebrow makeup.

Microblading

  • Requires the use of a manual tool that is used to etch pigments into the dermal layer of the skin, slightly shallower than semi permanent makeup
  • Last approx 6-12 months before top up work may be required. Most natural like for like hair-strokes.
  • A grouping of fine needles are used to create the most crisp and precise strokes
  • Mild scratching sensation
  • Currently most requested brow treatment.
  • Aftercare required.
  • Minimal downtime.

Machine applied semi-permanent makeup

  • Requires the use of a machine/digital device to employ a pigment into the dermal layer of the skin.
  • Pigment can stay in the skin for up to 2-5 years and visible for up-to 18 months.
  • A range of design techniques can be produced such as, hair-stroke, powder, combination or ombre.
  • Sensation is often described similar to plucking or a pulling sensation. Also quite similar to rubbing a toothbrush over the area.
  • Single or grouped needles can be used to create 3d results, can provide clients with a glamorous, bold finish.
  • Expensive machinery and equipment required.
  • Aftercare required.
  • Minimal downtime.

As you can see there are quite a few similarities between the two, essentially it is the tools and technique that stands these two treatments apart. Both excellent, it just depends on the look that you wish to achieve. From my personal experience I find that microblading will always produce the best hair stroke results, so if you are looking to achieve very natural life like brows, then microblading is the one. If you prefer a more glamorous finish or suffer with oily skin then the machine would be best suited for you, for long lasting and vibrant results.

Botox

1 Area
£175

2 Areas
£225

3 Areas
£265

Anti-Wrinkle injections are noted primarily for the ability to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles. Suitable for frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. They’re also used to treat conditions such as excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) of the arm pits.  Botox blocks the nerves to sweat glands and is very effective in reducing sweating and odour for many months.  Botox injections may also help prevent chronic migraines.

Dermal Fillers

Revolax 1.1ml
£180

Restylane 1ml
£210

Juverderm 1ml
£230

Dermal Fillers such as Revolax, Juvederm and Restylane gently soften wrinkles, lines and can fill out hollows to create the smooth contours of younger skin – without surgery.

As your skin ages, it loses the collagen that helps to shape and support it. Dermal fillers replace this volume, plumping and lifting cheeks, chins, jawlines, and temples; creating fuller lips, and plumping sagging hand.

Skinny Jab ‘Saxenda’

Saxendra Injectable Pen (First Month)
£199

Second month onwards
£150

The SkinnyJab® plan can remove hunger from the equation. Using a tried-and-tested medical revolution which acts as an appetite suppressant, the SkinnyJab® plan can reduce your hunger, allowing you to eat less while avoiding the cravings for those troublesome snacks.

When used as an aid to weight loss 3mg of Liraglutide  (marketed as Saxenda) should be injected into the stomach first thing each morning. This then provides appetite suppression for the rest of the day and, over a one-year-period, dieters who self-inject Saxenda each morning can expect to lose around a stone in weight more than dieters who are going the more traditional route by counting the calories and taking regular exercise.

It is important to note, however, that Saxenda will produce the best results when users adhere to a healthy diet and get plenty of exercise.
Studies show Saxenda can help dieters to reduce their calorie intakes by 10%, and results suggest that the drop is significant enough to produce very credible weigh losses.

Derma Needling

£55 per session

Derma Needling triggers your wound healing mechanism. This stimulates collagen and elastin production by causing trauma to the dermis, forcing these cells to renew. As a result you experience many anti aging benefits including the reduction of fine lines, wrinkles and scarring.

PRP (Platelet-Rich-Plasma)

From £250

This involves drawing blood from the client’s arm, separating the platelets and injecting them into the skin. Since the platelets are high in growth hormone, this stimulates the skin to regenerate and aids new collagen formation. This can also be used for hair regrowth.

Chemical Skin Peel

£40 per session

Skin peels and resurfacer treatments are designed to exfoliate your skin and encourage it to refresh itself by creating fresh new skin cells. They also stimulate the skin’s natural collagen production to help target the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

This is a non surgical cosmetic medicine treatment in which multiple tiny injection of pharmaceuticals, vitamins and plant extracts are delivered to the mesodermal layer. This is used for fat loss in the face, rejuvenating skin, tightening skin and much more.
